I am so glad God is reaching out, because on our own we can do nothing of true value with regards to serving man or woman. But I believe through his power hearts will be softened and touched. The fact is, God loves all people. He is very excited about humans. I don't understand this but don't have to.
The truth is actually that God values no one person less than another. All and everyone is extremely "precious" to him. Like we love our children, or like you love the most important person in your life, God loves that way, a personal way, not simply just a general sense. The truth is, God will and does love and accept everyone EXACTLY as they are in the moment. He loves us with our faults. This is the truth. He does not turn his back for ANY reason, or give up on a person, reject a person - for ANY reason, those are human traits.
He does not condemn anyone, he is not the author of condemnation. Is one person condemned by God for having an abortion? Nope. Does God condemn someone for being in a homosexual relationship? Nope. Does he love anyone anymore or less due to their sin or sinning? Nope. Every single person falls short, none more than the other.
God gave us Jesus to die on the cross and rise again. God loves Jesus as much as you love the most important person in your life, he loves his son that much. But, he watched his son suffer very badly, not to brag, but to make a way for us, not so everyone can see how great he is, but because he wants us, he is jealous of our attention, and is thrilled when we come to him.
Again, I don't understand why, the creator is thrilled about me, it makes no sense to me considering all the awesome things he's done, creation, and the unbridled power he has, it is me that he is ecstatic about.
I remember one time God revealed himself to me in a very vivid way throughout several moments. It was life like so much life like you have never experienced, like the definition of the word "life" like you never knew existed before, the true definition, complete overflow, very alive alive alive . I was stunned how excited he was about me, shocking. But, the most shocking part was, his presence had zero pride, absolutely and totally humble. I could not get over that. I have more pride than God, meaning God is not at all boastful, a shock. Completely easy to be around. You would think he would be, this to me was the most amazing thing, in fact this is what I thought was the most powerful thing about him, that he had all that power, but completely lacked any evidence of condemnation or hierarchy whatsoever.
To me this is greater than creating the earth or the universe, how humble He is. God wins people with his warmth, he has an actual personality. I pray to God that anyone reading this may be touched by Him in a powerful way, honestly not because I want people to be like me, but because of the treasure I have found on the inside, I want others to experience that because it is God's will.
My point about God is, he won't - not accept any person who comes to him regardless of what they are doing or have done by the way of sin. In otherwords, if one who is a mass murderer goes to God and accepts his gift of salvation, through accepting Jesus in their heart and confessing that he is in fact the Son of God, then God will welcome that individual with joy no matter who it is. God will deal with what needs dealt with in that individual through grace, by making the person want to change whatever it is that they need to change in. It is correct that sin by its definition separates us form God in relationship, it is natural that it will in Christians as well, but when you repent you turn your back on that which separates you, or, that which hinders you it is forgiven instantly by God.
The blood of Jesus cleanses a person spiritually 100%, in otherwords, when we accept salvation our spirit becomes as pure as Jesus's, or perfect, without sin - spiritually.
Even though ones does that, they are still effected by sin in many ways: your mind, your happiness, your relationship with God, the ministry and fruit of the Holy Spirit and the fruit of it in your life...sin leads to death, however, committing sin of any kind before or after you have received salvation does not threaten your salvation or your trip to Heaven, once you accept Christ's gift it is a done deal and cannot be taken away.
Regarding sin of all types as spelled out in the Bible, it is horrible in that it destroys peoples lives, I hate it, I struggle with sin as we all do.
As I have come to Christ, I was far from perfect, and in a moment God embraced me. God is desiring to reveal himself in this blog. In no way shape or form am I attempting to minimize the effects of sin or try to show God as encouraging it whatsoever, very much the opposite. But rather, with Jesus the being the focus, the true power of his blood is washing away all defects and imparting his perfection within us for the sake of growing his Heavenly family. So, the point is, anyone can go to God through the acceptance of His Son and God will immediately welcome them with open arms. This is the power of the blood. The fact is, God projects himself into peoples lives who don't know him through grace and mercy, but if people have never had anyone attempt to explain who God is, then they may never know. God wants them to know.
God is an actual being, meaning he has a face and a body like us, he is not some hazy cloud of smoke. On earth Christ is the head and Christians are the body. We tap into the mind of Christ seeking his wisdom and we act according to his will.
As far as the universe, world, etc. - God spoke them into existence, this defies our normal understanding of course (this goes into the He's 'God and we're not' category).
How he created man, he created him out of soil/dirt then breathed life into him. This maybe difficult to understand to you, but is it also difficult to understand - where does the sky or universe end? It goes on and on forever? It has to, because if it ended at wall, whats behind the wall? There are many things we know about that are impossible to understand but we don't deny that there is a universe just because we don't understand everything about it, unless we are predisposed to.
But the Bible says He created us in His image, so we resemble God. God has a distinct personality, he is not just some inate vessel of emence power, but a knowable 'person'. The more difficult to understand is that God has three parts, the Father, Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the very Spirit of God. We too have a Spirit, it is of a fallen world, a fallen man's nature.
If you receive Jesus you receive His Spirit that comes inside you, lives within you - this is not something that is taken by faith alone, God's Spirit can be very decernable, meaning you know that something is going on, you can tell that it is there, it is recognizable and lives with you.
This is when God said in the Bible that He uses so-called 'foolish things of this world to confound the wise', meaning that many people think Christians are idiots, yet times when we are enjoying the presence of God we are very happy. The Holy Spirit makes you happy among other very good things.
The ministry of Jesus Christ after his death is evidenced by the Holy Spirit, meaning that is why the Christian movement has thrived and grown in a world that hates him, it is because people need something that fills a void, a comfort in a fallen world, and the Spirit provides this in a way that is undeniable and very appreciated.
This is why Jesus's ministry created a kingdom without buildings or a country border, but a kingdom of God living in us and through us in a fallen world. The Holy Spirit and receiving it upon receiving Christ is what keeps people seeking God through his written word, not our intellect or human understanding choosing a 'religion' - that would fall away and get old and frustrating using our imagination as a self made escape from life. No, what keeps people engaged is the relationship with God made possible by the death of Jesus through the Holy Spirit, and in my case this relationship means everything to me.
You can go to God asking him to assist you in faith. Meaning you can go to God with unbelief, but enough faith in Him to ask Him to help you along even in doubt of who he is, with faith enough to turn to him even in an issue that deals with He Himself, if you persists he will show you, this is where He says "seek and ye shall find", this means if you seek God it is impossible that you won't find him.
It is the hard heart which is the issue, which is understandable, we as people have been hurt and betrayed, so how are we now supposed to trust in somene we cannot see? God is aware of this and he operates through faith.
It is His will that you go to him. When the heart softens towards God he is able to manifest within us to a greater extent, which is very pleasing to him (and us!), like when a child of yours comes to you for a hug. It is not about intelect or our human understanding, it is way beyond that, our intelect and understanding fails us time and time again. It is supernatural, it is about yielding in your heart to the best of your ability to God and he will do the rest.
When Jesus died his body was put into a stone tomb (a hole in the side of a stone wall or mountain) and a huge rock covered the tomb. A huge rock was used because the Romans did not want anyone getting in there and removing his body, or causing any disturbance. There were also hundreds of heavily armed Roman guards guarding the tomb. Jesus's followers were not prepared to overtake that scene and remove his body. Nor did they have a motive, they saw him die and they gave him a proper jewsih 'burial'.
The Jews were threatened by Jesus because he was 'shaking' up their power structure. There were about 10,000 followers of Jesus among the Jews, quite large. They feared Jesus may take away their power and way of doing business basically. So the Jews in power had him killed by the Romans in order to quash a non-violent uprising. The Romans also did not want any trouble among the Jewish community. But the jewish 'high priests' had the biggest stake in Jesus's demise.
So they killed him to rid their populous of his message which was upturning their authority, but also, Jesus's death was a way for the high preists way to demonstrate to his followers that he is no Messiah (savior), he did not save himself, look at this defeated man on the cross you though was the Son of God! "He is nothing!" So it was important that Jesus's body remained in the tomb after his death to quiet-up the whole ordeal and bring things back down to 'normal'.
The reason the son of a 'no one' carpenter was able to rise in the eyes of the people was two things; #1 - miracles; #2 - his teaching. It was against status quo to put it mildy for people to stray form the priests (the temples were the social center of their society, so if you were banned form the temples you were basically a societal outcast...this was used as a form of collusion) and listen to some 'common man' within a cast society. The miracles which included many healings and his teaching planted deep seeds in people.
According to historians the Bible is considered to be within the highest form of accuracy rating available, independent historians don't necessarily claim that Jesus is the Messiah, but that the Bible is an accurate historical document.
If the powerful jewish leaders at the time could have found Jesus's body they would have. If the even more powerful Roman leaders could have found Jesus's body they would have. And don't think they didn't look. Jesus is the most famous and influential man in history of the world. He is also the most famous man who's body has never been found even though people have looked for it beginning the third day after his death up until today.
After being COMPLETELY demoralized, the followers of Jesus, after Jesus was seemingly humiliated and definitely brutalized on the cross, what hope would they have had that he was the Son of God? Perhaps not much. Confusion? Probably. Sorrowful...definitely.
But, when Jesus reappeared to many people and the word got out, they must have been reinvigorated, relieved, and joyous. After three days of heaviness, the one they put hope in was gone, but then without even considering it a possibility he was with them again. Many of the desciples and followers of Jesus preached the Gospel AFTER the death of Jesus to the point of being torchered and killed for preaching the Gospel. Why? Because they new he rose again.
These weren't out cast crazies, these were intelligent people, Paul's writing which was 100% inspired by the Holy Spirit is incredible, not written by some lunatic looking for an imaginary friend in the sky for grown-ups. He was convicted to the point of death for his knowledge of the risen Christ, willingly.
There is amazing wisdom in the Bible, simply look at Proverbs written by king Solomon of the Old Testament, simple and beautiful wisdom. Look at the skill Jesus used in dealing with people, the wisdom he had, the beauty of his personalty. The beauty of his message.
There is something that is absolutely radical worth considering, something that one may have never even though of, that is the consideration that the Bible is 100% true form cover to cover. The thought of that is just as radical today as it was two-thousand years ago.
If you are mad with the structure of salvation here on earth offered to us. You believe God is unjust, is it God or the devil who has earned your mistrust? Which one is held responsible for people going to hell?
If it is God that is responsible, then is he not also to be held responsible for all the goodness in ones life, and for life itself, and for dying on the cross for us to be able to spend eternity in Heaven? And, are you willing to take your rebellion to the level of delivering yourself into hell for an eternity due to the fact that you disapprove of (or better yet, don't fully comprehend) the game plan?
What is going to happen to you when you die? Will you plead your case against your perceived infractions committed by your creator. Would the knees begin to wobble just a little bit? Sort of like a computer you built from scratch, you power it on and the monitor has the screen saying "your an idiot, you built me wrong, and you designed this whole thing wrong". Who is smarter, the designer of the machine or the machine itself? Who is more just and compassionate, the designer of man or man himself. How can man supercede in God like characteristics such as compassion and seeking justice? Has an evil God created man that has evolved beyond the creators capability of loving? Logic must rein free even in the hearts of man.
II Corinthians 10: 5, "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;".
Or have you admittedly chosen another god? Perhaps none that you are aware of, unless your god is living by way of an 'anti-God' soul and heart, for many this is the case. But I contend to you that there is no awake human on earth that is a true "atheist", every man and woman has a god of some form. To many, a Godless existence can be a god for them. Rebellion can become a god. Whats behind the vast majority of passion that you have? What basic belief gets your blood moving like nothing else?...that is your god (or God).
But I guarantee this, if you were the last man on earth and there were no distractions and no one to associate with whatsoever, I bet you would spend alot of your "free time" seeking another. Seeking God. Seeking a friend, a father, a savior for 'right now', not necessarily for the after life, but for someone to bond with like never before, right now.
This world is full of temptation, none of which is form God. However, if we weren't given 'free will' then the drum beat complaint would be "why did this stupid God make us as robots, does he think we're so stupid that we wouldn't choose correctly?", and in that case also, the real meaning would be 'I don't like to have a God above me, my pride doesn't want anything higher than me...oh, and by the way, that pride is God's fault'...yet we are the ones claiming enlightenment...
