"Me want stuff"...America, the current generation is awful. Greedy whiney retards.
Five TV sets, two X-boxes, lazy kids that watch TV all day. You complain about jobs going over seas and you shop at Walmart. Your loyal to nothing but the dollar and your self congratulating embarrassing lifestyle.
Middle aged divorced adults with girlfriends and boyfriends - fifty percent are re-living their high school days.
No savings, maxed out credit cards, divorced. Don't have the care to parent your kids but only stuff their faces with more happy food and buy them more stuff on your credit cards.
This is the most pathetic generation the world has ever seen. Women perched high gloriously lofting around in the giant SUV's on a power trip. "What kind of medical benefits do I get?" Completely unhappy, completely material and status driven. Your self worth is determined by the car you lease, the McMansion you live in, and how many thousands of dollars you charge on the latest crap for sale at the store.
What an embarrassment. Our society has become solely about money. Hey I know, lets do something really really different and get a tattoo...no one else does that. And if I were a girl, I would do something that no other girl has ever done, place the tattoo on my lower back and make it some kind of tribal design...yeah, that's never been done before.
People are losing jobs in this country because shoppers in this country are the most greedy humans on earth. Our culture is now based on whatever you can buy something for the lower the better - I bet if things at Walmart were bought overseas and made of urchin Malaysian children's skin, but they were cheaper than Sears, Walmart would only loose 8% of its business.
But we are quick to prop ourselves proud and blame the politician, to make ourselves feel better, to detract away from our lifestyles day after day after day of screwing our neighbor. How much more of this is tolerable. We use twenty grand on credit cards with an over priced house full of charged crap and Rome is burning.
We are a beacon for the world, yet we embarrass ourselves. We no longer have any moral standing anywhere, and no its not because Bush, its because we have no family unit, we have no discipline, we live above our means, we are not loyal to our own country, we don't raise our kids correctly, we are the number one producer and exporter of garbage in the entertainment media, and there is practically zero unity in our society
Cha ching...its all about the money. Money makes you be able to buy shiny objects, boxes of all sizes you plug into the wall, TV's in your cars to keep your un-raised kids mouths shut.
This is the greatest country in the world, the most Christian nation ever, but boy am I sick of it. I wish we were back to the living fossils day's - the World War II guys and women, the generation when it meant something really good to be an American. Now, we don't have our act together one bit. The only thing that is holding this country together is the Christian churches - nothing else, period.
Our teachers have sex with kids and those in the media defend them. Kids have zero manners. Young adults work ethic sucks. America has all but lost the service oriented heart, only in the church does it remain.
Its amazing we're still as good off as we are. The rest of the world must be in super bad shape if we who are so weak, slovenly, and depraved can coast clouds above the rest of the world. Or have we begun to hit a crash course with reality?
Look at politics, look how insane its become. Every lobby group and the viciousness and big money that's involved now. Our political system has been completely hijacked. The court system in large part has been over run with communists.
Big business, to survive the greedy American consumer - must do whatever necessary to weather the storm - outsourcing overseas is one example, downsizing due to lack of demand is another, or even folding due to foreign competitive pressures.
Who will look in the mirror and admit what we've become? Who is sober among us? Drunk on material items, drunk on self serving attitudes - me first, drunk on blaming others for our own condition, drunk on immorality, and greed.
America is unwilling to admit to itself that it is time to change its priorities. Who will lead us? A politician? It is up to the individual and individually we are lost in this country.
God and his teachings seem to have slipped last in a place in our hearts. Now its all the temptations of the world - money, pride, rebellion, envy, greed - these rule our American society now. No service, no courage, no dignity, few selfless acts.
What an embarrassment. And how does the next generation wake up when their parents are idiots? If you are raised by the current generation of mindless status driven consumers of whatever the latest thing the Jones's got, what is your hope? What example has your parents shown you? To shrug off commitment, to be a flake, lost. What is the deeper meaning? What is the purpose of your life??
There is a cloud of blackness that has snuck up on our country that has overtaken the weak. The easy thing to do is to put yourself first...and as a country this is pulling us down.
Where is the awakening? How can there be an awakening when the populous doesn't even know its asleep? Wow, maybe its just me, but this world has become downright inhospitable. People no longer have a deep rudder in their lives. Its just one thing on to the next in a grand effort to serve thyself regardless of any consequences.
I go to church twice a week and it is an oasis, completely. Like a dolphin coming to the surface to breath. People there attempt to love thy brother, they have priorities that are mature. Then back you go into the world to get worn down again. Its become so extreme in our country that you need an oasis, a refuge, its no longer ok just living happily out among society in my opinion, people have become vipers that will stab each other in the back to get theirs. Its discouraging to say the least.
No moral compass anymore - anywhere outside of the church - name one institution? School system? The family? At work - eight jobs in seven years? In politics? In business? In your neighborhood - bickering / strife / gossip? In your community - what community - there is no community anymore? What institution that you belong to or are a part of has any moral bearing whatsoever? There is none anymore.
Couples cant be loyal to their marriage, employers aren't loyal to their employees, employees aren't loyal to their employers, we are not loyal to our own country, our kids are not loyal to us, parents are not loyal to their kids, and certainly we are not as a country loyal to God.
Do you have a relationship with your banker? Do you have a relationship with your car dealer? Do you have a relationship with your local store owner? Hell no. There are no relationships. The only relationship is with money. You will switch vendors so fast to save a buck. There is no more loyalty. Just flakey clouds floating around looking for savings, so they have more money to spend on themselves and their childish desires.
Wake up and smell the coffee, I'm talking to you. Americans don't want competitiveness, they want slaves. As long as it entails 'more for me'.
I understand what the Bible says when it says to hate the world. I never used to understand that, I thought 'I love the world', the beaches, the great views, happy times. I believe what the Bible is referring to is when you become more sensitive of the flaws of this world. The selfishness. The sin. That as a maturing Christian you will begin to appreciate that you have become separated from this place, it is no longer like a home to you but a sort of home away form home. And the more you grow in the beliefs of the teachings of Christ, the more your view of the world changes.
You say, hmmm, you just had a bad day. 'Had a bad day' usually means that underneath things have been stirring for more than just that day. A constant reminder and revelation of what people have become. And on the days when your not having 'a bad day', you simply haven't reached the threshold of frustration that we all live in today with the current detached-from-truth environment.
You say its my opinion about Christianity and our society. No it isnt. If your not seeking the truth of God you are not happy - its as simple as that.
Why do you think people get divorced, buy to much stuff, have poor relationships, are lonely, discouraged, feeling lost, wanting, regretful, envious...on and on as a society more and more? Its because people as individuals are no longer seeking the things of God but are instead seeking immature superficial self serving things that they have been deceived by Satan to lust after...it is that simple.
I am just a simpleton unsophisticated person? Absolutely! I say if the end is near bring it on, please. The more you mature in God spiritually, the more you disassociate with this world. It becomes foreign. And the more this world shifts away from the Bible the more foreign it becomes.
Instead we as a nation are loving the world and all its trappings. This is why in reverse God seems so foreign to many of us, instead of the other way around. People now in this country love the world and hate God. Lust lust lust lust lust.
I wish we as a country had a passion for God.
